This site is a fan forum of the Japanese comics "Fighter Akatsuki" written and drawn by Takao Aoyagi. This comics is known also in the name of others, such as "Basketball Fighter" or "Faito No Akatsuki".
The story of these comics is two contrastive junior highschool stuedents'(Akatsuki and Kiyoharu) growing up through a basketball game. However, they face various ordeals , they overcome them and develop friendship each other.
Although this outline is the same as traditional boys' comics of Japan, these comics have the feature of very delicate depiction of boys' heart.
The original version of "Fighter Akatsuki" was published in Japan by Shogakukan Inc. from 2003 to 2004. And today, these are translated and read in many countries.
My name is Hatman, one of the Japanese fan of these comics. And I have no relationship with a Shogakukan or Takao Aoyagi. Since nevertheless I want to tell foreign people the Wonderfulness of these comics, I am managing this site.

Takao Aoyagi was born in 1970s in Tokyo. In 1990s, He came out with his first-work"Freedom", and did fine work winning at the 43rd newcomer comic grand-prix sponsored by Shogakukan (the largest comics publisher in Japan).
After that, he had started his first series work"GIOCATORE" on the Shogakukan's monthly comics magazine"GOTTA" (2000-2001).
And since 2002, He serialized second and longer series work"Fighter Akatsuki" on "Sunday" the major weekly comics magazine of Shogakukan, and finished it in 2003. Now he probably is preparing new work for Sunday.
He is good artist at drawing a boy's delicate feeling on his work.
